Chinese BBQ Pork

  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp. dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. rice wine
  • 2 tbsp. yellow bean paste
  • 2 tsp. sesame oil
  • 1 tsp. five-spice powder
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tsp. finely grated ginger
  • 1 kg. pork fillet
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  1. Put sugar, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice wine, bean paste, sesame oil, five-spice powder, garlic, ginger and pepper in a bowl; mix them together
  2. Add pork to bowl; cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight
  3. Drain marinade into a pot, add honey, simmer
  4. Cook pork, basting with marinade
